Ronald Joseph George, a life long resident of Danbury CT, passed away after a long illness, on October 7, 2016, surrounded by loved ones.
Ronnie, as he was affectionately known by those closest to him, was born April 22, 1935 to the late Emil and Helen (Jaber) George.

Ron attended St. Joseph School in Danbury and was a 1953 graduate from Danbury High School. He received his undergraduate degree in history from the University of Connecticut; a Master's Degree in Education from the University of Bridgeport; and his JD from Brooklyn Law School.

Ronald was an attorney in Danbury for 46 years and was a member of the Connecticut Bar Association. Prior to practicing law, he was a teacher in Weston, CT. Ron was a member of St. Ann Melkite Church in Danbury.

Ron was a life-long learner and voracious reader who enjoyed politics, history, religion, the Middle East and poetry. He loved to travel to visit family throughout the US, especially his cousins in Wisconsin and Washington DC. His travels brought him around the world but his favorite destination was Ireland, which he visited 39 times, never tiring of the Irish and their beautiful emerald isle. His greatest pleasure in life was his family, who cherished him dearly.

Ron is survived by his daughters: Kimberly Vranceanu (Dragos) of Bucharest, Romania; Whitney A. Holden (William) of Northville, MI; Jennifer George Andrea of Bridgewater, CT. His grandchildren: Lila and Remy Menard, Bianca Vranceanu, William (Yulia), Lauren and Allison Holden, and Lawrence Andrea. He is also survived by his sister, Audrienne G. Buzaid of Danbury. His nephews: Jay, Jeff and Scott Buzaid as well as his great-nieces and great-nephews, an aunt and uncle and many cousins.

The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to his caregiver, Sarahjeanne Peterson and the staff of Regional Hospice and Home Care in Danbury.

The Rite of Burial will take place at 10am on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2016 at St. Ann Melkite Greek Catholic Church, 181 Clapboard Ridge Rd., Danbury, with Archimandrite Michael K. Skrocki officiating. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury. The family will receive friends from 4pm-7pm on Friday, Oct. 14, 2016 at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury. The Trisagion Prayer Service will be offered at 6:45pm on Friday evening at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ron's memory may be made to St. Ann's Church, 181 Clapboard Ridge Rd., Danbury, CT 06811 or to Regional Hospice and Home Care of Western CT, 30 Milestone Road, Danbury, CT 06810.
